Fabric-on-the-floor carpet

I bought this fabric to make a seat cushion in our bedroom. It feels like ultra-suede but looks like petite-point needlework. Thrown on the floor (with an old blanket underneath) makes it look like a carpet. Does anyone have any suggestion how this could be secured (or what else to use as a cushion?) I like to think of it as a carpet from Versailles, where artisans spent months and months threading little needles with fine thread to produce silk carpets. I spent all of $14. :)

That is beautiful! I always see material I want to buy to do something with it, but I am not very talented. Sometimes I buy it anyway hoping for inspiration. Then I found your blog. I love it. I have it linked to mine and you give me good ideas. Thanks! Donna in Alberta, Canada

I think you can get a section of foamy mat to lay under it pretty cheaply. Check the carpet section of Home Depot. I think they sell it on giant rolls...maybe.
